In November of 2014, Niswander Environmental was contracted to delineate a 500-acre parcel located in Midland, Michigan. Our client proposed to convert approximately 100-200 acres of the property into an industrial facility. This 500-acre site was a complex delineation with numerous upland pockets and mosaic wetland features. The property was historically disturbed from past activities such as timber management (i.e., clearcutting, selective harvest, etc.), stockpiling, and mining. Most of the property consisted of forest, old field, and/or wetland, and most of these areas were undulating and mesic in nature. Niswander Environmental assessed the property for the presence of wetlands, watercourses, and other significant natural features, and delineated these features in a cost-efficient and timely manner.
