Clinton River (Phase II) Wetland Mitigation Bank

On behalf of Wheeler Farm, LLC, Niswander Environmental is currently developing a third wetland mitigation bank located in Macomb County, Michigan: the Clinton River Phase II Wetland Mitigation Bank. This new bank will cover the Clinton River Watershed and the Ecoregion VI.1.1, and would involve the restoration of approximately 101.57 acres of wetland. The conceptual design of the wetland mitigation bank site is to create a self-sustaining diverse mixed-type wetland. It is anticipated that we will create 101.57 acres of wetland, comprised of 96.72 acres of forested, 4.79 acres of scrub-shrub, and 2.99 acres of emergent wetland. Final design will be based on the outcome of ongoing groundwater monitoring, hydrologic modeling, and other site constraints. Construction was started in April, 2015.
